Kathleen Syme Library & Community Centre
In 2015 the 139-year-old Kathleen Syme building in Carlton was transformed into the area’s first-of-its-kind creative, learning and community space. The building is home to a comprehensive library, as well as learning and training rooms with a computer lab, recording studio, meeting rooms, community activity spaces, cafe and also free wifi.
We were approached by The City of Melbourne to design, style & install an ‘interactive, engaging experience’ in the meditation & prayer room’ for the opening weekend. A year later we were asked back to transform the community lounge into a relaxing and inviting space, where the 1st year festivities were held, and canapés & tea were served. From concepts and mood boards, to art direction, design of custom collateral and creative crafting for the ultimate interactive experience.
COLLATERAL DESIGNED: Posters, directional signage, art direction, short video and photography. Styling & installation in collaboration with Meg Schmidtke.
