Event Styling at NGV
Studio Mimi Moon was approached by Sweet & Chilli, a specialist Drinks agency and Diageo (the world’s largest producer of spirits!) to add some sparkle to their 2018 Dan Murphey’s conference bar experience, in the Great Hall at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV).
Guests were treated to a fresh, summery spritz featuring Singleton Whisky and also a wintery limited edition, soon to be released Johny Walker ‘White Walker’ whisky. The brief: The two worlds of Summer and Winter needed to represent, and ‘snow’ or ‘frost’ conveyed to compliment an ice sculpture containing the new White Walker Whisky bottle within.
For the wintery element a selection of large-medium-small quartz gemstones, vintage crystal, glass and antique silver decanters and vessels were sourced and paired, with wintery textures of muted, grey-green foliage to contrast with enchanting, shiny black ceramics and dark flowers and wild foliage. For the summer vibe bright green and colourful faux foliage garlands were weaved around the main bar arbour, as a bar backdrop and teal glass vessels were scattered on the table centrepieces to represent Singleton’s hero brand colour. Eight unique but unifying table centrepieces were created as a mix of Summer and winter, along with the Summery bar arbour backdrop and a wintery feature area created around the stunning ice sculpture.
