New Palm Court Orchestra (NPCO)
A stunning fresh take on a 20th century tradition, the NPCO brings together some of Melbourne’s best jazz, classical and improvising musicians, lead by pianist & composer Gemma Turvey. Palm Court Orchestras were popular in the 1920’s and 30’s for playing light instrumental music in an intimate setting. The New Palm Court Orchestra (NPCO) injects this seductive format with a fresh vitality, delivering a rich palette of beautifully evocative original music.
Working with Gemma the creative director since 2011, initially with designing their first album ‘Landscape for a Mind’s Eye’ and later working on establishing a fresh new brand identity and a distinct look & feel for the NPCO.
