Studio Mimi Moon is the kaleidoscopic creative studio of Miriam McWilliam (Mimi). Based in Melbourne and sometimes abroad, her approach is hand-crafted and personal; managing, art directing and designing all of the projects herself and when required, working with talented individuals from a variety of disciplines to help make the magic happen on a larger scale.

Miriam loves working closely and collaboratively with her clients to define the WHO, WHAT, WHY & HOW of their brand or project, helping them realise their vision and then translating it into something truly magical. The full and half crescent moon which makes up part of the Studio Mimi Moon logo, represents this important collaborative nature of client and designer.

She’s definitely not afraid of colour, loves using illustration and artful photography in her work, and a strong idea is always behind her design solutions. Like the phases of the moon, behind every bright idea is a well-explored path of discovery; through extensive research, brain-storming, mood boards, conceptual development, design development and refinement, resulting in the creation of holistic design solutions that truly shine.

Miriam has 15 years experience in the design industry and has worked on some exciting projects for clients in areas such as hospitality, events, arts, cultural and community organisations, fashion, retail, charity and not-for-profit, tourism, property, government and a wide cross-section of small-medium businesses.

Specialising in crafting brand identities and visual languages that tell an authentic story, and which translate effectively across multiple platforms for digital, print and experientially in a space.

Studio Mimi Moon offers graphic design, illustration, art direction and styling for projects including (but not limited to): Brand identities, re-brands, naming, visual languages, style guides, brand rollout, publications, stationery, book covers, posters, invitations, packaging, signage, wall murals, exhibitions, installations, visual merchandising and styling and art direction for photoshoots, events and experiences, websites, blogs, social media content, e-newsletters, web banners and animated gifs and short videos.

Firstly, when the core range of cans won a Silver medal for Best Design at the Australian International Beer Awards and then late last year for the Coffee Brown Ale (using @thesedayscoffee) which also won an award for its can label design at the first ever Drink Easy Awards hosted by Broadsheet at Paradise Alley in Melbourne. The can design was heralded as the finalist in the Beer & Cider category for the ‘Easy on the Eye’ award for 2019.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your next project, life’s too short for dull design – it’s all about finding your magic Moon-Sparkle.
